Gear Drop

Gear Drop is located in the Noosa Bus Stop Car Park (across the road from Transition) on race day. It will be open from 5:00am to 2:00pm on race day.

It is compulsory to use the Gear Bag provided. This facility is provided because bags cannot be stored in the Transition area. Please attach the gear bag number label located in your Race Kit to your bag before dropping it at Gear Drop. Please note that full care but no responsibility or liability is taken by IRONMAN.

All large bike pumps will be stored separately from your bag. Please use the pump label from your Race Kit to number your pump.

Any gear left behind will be at Information until 3pm.

Transition Race Morning

The individual transition area will be open from 4:45am - 6:00am on Sunday morning. All individual competitors must be out of transition by 6:00am.

Helmets will be checked Sunday morning on entry to the transition area by Triathlon Australia Officials. Please ensure you have your Helmet Sticker (received at check-in and found in your kit) on your Helmet. Bikes cannot be removed from the compound under any circumstances during this time. The individual transition must be clear before the first wave start.

Teams Transition

The teams transition will be open from 4:45am on Sunday morning. Access to the teams transition area will be from the outside of the Individual transition at the southern end of transition. All team members must have their ID wristband on to access the transition area, where the team changeover will happen. All team swimmers must be at the swim start by 8:45am. Only team cyclists should remain in the team transition from 9:00am. We must ensure teams transition is as clear as possible during race times for the safety of all competitors.

A team swimmer must not remove the timing band until within the transition area. The team cyclist must remain in their position in transition with their bike racked until the swimmer has tagged the cyclist and the cyclist has the timing chip secure around their LEFT ankle.

Once returned to transition the team cyclist must rack their bike before the runner can leave on the run leg. Team runners must wait in the team cyclist’s bike rack position. Remember to take the timing band off the cyclist and secure it to your ankle before exiting transition. The runner will wear the timing chip from the time they leave transition until they cross the finish line.

The cyclist must ensure the Bike and Helmet stickers are placed securely in their correct positions. The runner only must clearly display the race number on their front at all times for the run leg.

Timing Chips

Timing results will include swim split, cycle split, run split and finish time as well as overall and category places.

If you do forget your timing band, please report to the Transition Help Desk on Sunday morning before the race, as you will need to be reissued with a whole new timing band & race number. You will be required to pay a $150 fee if timing chip is lost. If you withdraw from the race please inform the Information Tent and return your timing band.

Individuals

  • Timing band must be worn on your left ankle (you won't get a time if worn anywhere else).
  • No timing band = no time.

Teams

  • All three team members must wear the timing band. The swimmer meets the cyclist at the bike and transfers the timing chip to the cyclist. The runner meets the cyclists at the bike position on the rack and transfers the timing chip.
  • No timing band = no time.
  • Timing band must be worn your left ankle.

Event Shuttle

Parking close to the event area is limited as transition is located in one of the main parking areas of Noosa. Please allow plenty of time.

There are three designated all-day parking areas available throughout the event. Please follow the advertised blue parking signs. Noosa Triathlon event crew or volunteers will be directing drivers toward these car parks from Saturday afternoon onwards.

Follow Parking signs from Noosa Heads / David Low Way to the designated event parking area.
