Noosa Triathlon Roars Back Into Life This Week

25 October 2021

The world-renowned Noosa Triathlon returns this week, bringing an action-packed schedule of events to Noosa.

After not taking place in 2020 the Noosa Triathlon returns this year between Wednesday 27 and Sunday 31 October, with Australia’s top triathletes along with age-group athletes set to take part.

Geoff Meyer, Managing Director of The IRONMAN Group Oceania, said that the team was looking forward to bringing back the popular event.

“After a year’s break the team can’t wait to see the Noosa Triathlon return this week,” said Meyer. “This is an event that is incredibly important not only to the triathlon community but to the local community and we’re thrilled that we’re back in action again.

“We’re expecting around 9,000 people to take part in the Noosa Triathlon and Festival Events over the week, with a range of opportunities on offer for the community to be involved,” he said. “While the ongoing challenges that we’ve all faced over the last year and a half has meant that we have less people taking part than at previous Noosa Triathlons, we know how important the week is to so many people so when it became clear that we could hold the event the team put everything into putting on the best possible week of festivities.

“We’ve had great support from the local community for this year’s Noosa Triathlon and look forward to seeing people out enjoying the event over the coming week,” said Meyer.

Tourism Noosa CEO Melanie Anderson welcomed the event back to the region.

“It is great to see the Noosa Tri return this year,” said Anderson. “The event is one of our favourite events on the Noosa events calendar and we can’t think of a better way to enjoy Noosa that swimming in our beautiful Laguna Bay, running along our tropical pathways and cycling from the beach through to our stunning hinterland.”
